St Michaelís school character, daily life and religious teaching are founded in the Catholic Faith.The school caters for both boys and girls aged four to eleven years, all of whom attend on a full-time basis.
There are currently 188 children on roll.The school is situated in the old dockland area of Pillgwenlly near the town centre of Newport.The school celebrated its centenary in 1999. However, the new building was founded in 1988.
The Parish Church, St Michaelís is within walking distance of the school in St Michael Street.
The school is held upon a Trust which has the education of Catholic children as its objective in addition to establishing, maintaining or advancing the Catholic religion in the Archdiocese.
